Detail itinerary

Day 1 – Hochiminh city (HCMC or Saigon) arrival
Arrive at Hochiminh city airport and welcomed by our friendly guide with fresh flowers then transfered to hotel. Free at leisure after a long flight you may have. Overnight in HCMC (…).

Day 2 – Hochiminh city tour
Enjoy a city tour of the dynamic Ho Chi Minh City, still called Saigon by many locals. The city tour takes in the city’s visiting places begining with the former Presidential Palace, the War Museum from there on you will go on foot (the car will be available at all times) to visit the major sights of colonial Ho Chi Minh City: the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, Dong Khoi Street (formerly Rue Catinat), Continental Hotel, Opera House and City Hall. The rest of time is free at your leisure to explore this dynamic city on your own pace. Enjoy a romantic dinner cruise on Saigon river. Overnight in HCMC(B,L,D)

Day 3 – Saigon-Caibe-Vinhlong-Sadec(Overnight river cruise)
Today, leave the hustle and bustle of the city and head for the rustic countryside in Mekong Delta. Upon arrival, board the private 'Song Xanh', a small but luxurious boat that allows you to discover the narrow canals and tributaries with ease. After your installation the cruise will begin with the visit of Cai Be floating market, cruising among local barges full of fruits and vegetables, proceed to Phu An hamlet, an untouched beautiful area reflecting some of the Mekong delta best sights. On the way, stop to see some local home factories to observe how rice paste, coconut candies and other regional specialties are made.
A delicious lunch will await you at "Le Longanier" restaurant, a superb Indochinese house located by the river, in a lush tropical garden surrounded by fruit plantations. After lunch, your sampan will proceed to Sa Dec cruising the Tien Giang river, one of the two large arms of the Mekong. These evergreen islands among the Mekong River bring about large networks of meandering rivers, criss-crossed with countless arroyos, and remaining unknown to many people. We will then cruise on a small beautiful canal through water jacinth plantations… You will take a small rowing boat for a cruise along a narrow canal passing by a local tiny village and fruit plantations. Further on the banks, some dark smokes in the sky will lead us to one of the largest artisanal bricks and tiles factory where you will have an interesting visit. Sa Dec town will appear like a little “Venice” with numerous narrow canals, disembark to visit a beautiful ancient house or “Nha Co” dating from the early 19th century, home of Ong Huyh Thuy Le, former “lover” of famous French novelist Marguerite Duras….
Back on board your sampan, you will be served a delicious dinner. First night on the Mekong river… (B,L,D)

Day 4 – Sadec-Longxuyen-Ongho island(Overnight river cruise)
The breakfast will be served on board at 07am. The day will begin with a guided visit of Sa Dec charming and peaceful town, walking along its narrow streets where beautiful French old houses and Chinese temples dating from the last century are numerous…You will also visit the local market and the Trung Vuong primary school where Marguerite Duras spent her childhood… (see her famous novel “The Lover”).
Back on board your private sampan for your second day cruise in the delta. While your sampan will proceed upstream on the Mekong river to Long Xuyen, your lunch will be served on board…
Long Xuyen is a peaceful typical provincial town lying on the Mekong’s banks, dotted with an attractive floating market… In the afternoon, excursion to “Ong Ho” island to visit the museum of Ton Duc Thang, second president of Vietnam… At the end of the day, we will organize for you an exciting evening with your dinner arranged at a local ancient house. You will be able to share experiences with family members and learn about traditional southern lifestyle, a highlight of your journey to be kept for long time in your memory…
Back on board your private sampan for the your second night on the river. The cruise will slowly continue during the night to Rach Gia. (B,L,D)

Day 5 – Longxuyen-Rachgia-Phuquoc island
Arrival at Rach Gia, a port town located at the southern end of Vietnam in the Gulf of Thailand. Its main industries are fishing and agriculture.
The breakfast will be served early on board at 06am then disembark and transferred to Rach Gia airport to take a short flight to Phuquoc island (Our guide will escort you to Rach Gia airport by taxi). Met on arrival by the hotel’s representative person then transferred to your resort. Overnight in Phuquoc island (B)

Day 6,7,8 & 9 – Phu Quoc free & easy
Spend the next two nights in the perfectly laidback surroundings of Phu Quoc. Recommended optional tours include diving and snorkelling trips to the outer lying reefs or a trekking excursion in the pristine rainforest of the island's interior.

Day 10 – Phu Quoc departure
Free at leisure till being transferred to Phu Quoc airport for your flight to Saigon/Hanoi where you connect your flight home(B)
