Fansipan Summit & Sapa

Fansipan Mount , Sapa Vietnam is the highest peak in Vietnam and the entire Indochina peninsula ( 3143m ) . This remote trek provides plenty to see and absorb, from the scattered rocks inscribed with drawings and designs of unknown origin, to the French influenced hill retreat town of Sapa with its minority groups, beautiful villas and cherry forests. Our trek to the top of Mt. Fansipan is challenging and will be fully supported every step of the way by our guides, porters and cooks who's local knowledge and understanding of the different hill-tribe cultures we pass along the way will add to the uniqueness of this exhilarating journey.

Ouline itinerary

Day 1 : Hanoi - Lao Cai /Sapa

Day 2 : Sapa - Campsite of Fansipan

Day 3 : 2800m-Fansipan peak-2200m campsite

Day 4 : 2200m-Sinchai village-Sapa

Day 5 : Sapa-LaoChai-TaVan-GiangTaChai-LaoCai

Day 6 : Hanoi ( end tour )

Day 1 – Hanoi   Laocai
Take the overnight train to Laocai.  Overnight on train(Transfer from your hotel to train staion arranged by your self)

Day 2 – Laocai-Sapa-Tramton-2800m campsite(Overnight at tent)
On arrival at Lao Cai train station at early morning, Early arrival at Lao Cai train station, met by our local guide then check in at a Standard hotel located opposite to train station for a short stay, shower & breakfast before transfering to Sapa, leave by car toward the Silver Waterfall where you will be able to take a short walk to the waterfall. You will then drive further to Heaven Gate, the highest peak of roads in Vietnam. From there you can see Fansipan, the highest peak of Indochina mountains as well as enjoy stunning views. The trek will be relatively soft until lunchtime. After a couple of hours of hiking, you will have a break at a nice spot in the forest and enjoy a good lunch. With new energy you start ascending as well as descending towards the campsite. En route you have many opportunities to enjoy the scenery and magnificent views to Sapa area and beautiful landscape of Lai Chau province. You will arrive to the campsite at 2800m ASL in the late afternoon. Now it is time to relax and enjoy a well prepared dinner. Overnight in tent(B,L,D)
Day summary: Road transfer 16 km/ Grade 3 of 5/ Trekking 6 hours from 2040m to 2,800m/ Lunch 1 hour – picnic/ Dinner and overnight at camp-site.

Day 3 –2800m-Fansifan peak-2200m campsite (Overnight at tent)
Breakfast and leave the camp-site at 08.00. The trek gets though bamboo forest and flat land of grass for an hour and then getting up very steep mountain side for nearly 1,5 hour to reach to the Peak! Congratulation! You have conquered the roof on Indo-China at the height of 3143m. In a nice day, great view of a vast region westwards to Lai Chau, eastwards to Lao Cai…even further to China and Dien Bien Phu are all in your sight and under your feet.
The way back is easier and it takes only 1,5 hour back to the 2,800m camp-site for lunch. Leaving the campsite at 2.00 pm along the same trail back for 3 hours and arrive at the 2,200m camp-site at about 5.00 pm. Relax and free to explore the wild surrounding nature. (B,L,D)
Day summary: Trekking 6 to hours, grade 5 of 5/ Lunch break: 1 hour/ Dinner and overnight at 2,200m camp-site.

Day 4 - 2200m-Sinchai village-Sapa (Overnight at hotel in Sapa)
Breakfast and leave the camp-site at 08.00. The trek gets mostly downhill for 1 hour and then turn left to a narrower trail getting through thick primitive forest for 2 hours. Arriving to the upstream of the Muong Hoa River at noon. Lunch break.
Afternoon trek last for nearly 2 hours downhill passing through several isolated hamlets of the H’mong. Arriving to Sin Chai at about 3.00 pm. Picked up for a short road transfer uphill to Sapa where you can celebrate your achievement, check in at your hotel and relax for the rest of day.(B,L)
Day summary: Trekking 5 hours, grade 4 of 5/ Lunch break: 1 hour/ Road transfer 6 km to Sapa.

Day 5 –Sapa-LaoChai-TaVan-GiangTaChai-LaoCai  Hanoi
After breakfast, transferred by car to Lao Chai village of a Black Hmong ethnic minority village then walk from Lao Chai to Tavan village of the Giay ethnic minority hill tribes where you rest and enjoy a delicious lunch prepared by your guide in a local house. After lunch the walk continues through a bamboo forest to Giang Ta Chai, a Red Dao ethnic minority village. After taking a rest nearby a waterfall to refresh, you start climbing uphill to a road where the car is ready for your journey back to Lao Cai, check in at the Standard hotel located opposite to Lao Cai train station to rest, have a shower and dinner before taking the overnight train to Hanoi(B,L,D)
Approx: 1-hour driving/ 4 hours walking/ 1-hour lunch.

Day 6 – Hanoi arrival
Arrival at Hanoi at early morning. End of tour

Important notes:
• Not recommended to old-aged customers, children under 18 as well as those having high blood pressure!
• This is a challenging tour for customers whose strength and mobile ability above average plus some trekking practice and experience. The trekking trail is tough, steep and slippery at many parts.
• This trip can be organized the whole year around. Landscapes is lively beautiful from May to September thanks to rice and corn farming. Unfortunately it is hot and wet in these months especially heavy rain in July and August. Weather is nice in October, November and first half of December. January, February is cold and foggy. It gets better from March to April.
• Personal luggage is limited at 6kg maximum. Good trekking shoes, rain gear, warm clothes, insect repellents should be brought.
• We have right to cancel the tour or change tour plan in case of bad weather, fire...at the last minutes for safety of customer.
• We have right to cancel the tour if customers refuse to observe the disciplines about health condition, safety instruction as well as environment protection.
