Tour Plan

Arrive at HCMC and transfer to your hotel. Check in, free at leisure for the rest of the day and overnight in HCMC.

In the morning, depart Ho Chi Minh City for a drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Leaving the bustling city behind, the scenery begins to change: first to lush rice paddies, then to rubber plantations, and finally to villagers drying noodles by the side of the road and going about their daily chores. On arrival starts the visit with the Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc sections of the tunnel, an immense network of connecting underground tunnels located in the Cu Chi district in the suburb of HCMC. Back to Ho Chi Minh City for lunch at a local restaurant.

After lunch, visit the War Museum, which contains exhibits relating to the phase of the war against Americans and the former Presidential Palace that was the home and workplace of the President of the Southern Vietnamese government during the Vietnam War. From there on, you will go on foot (the car will be available at all times) to visit the major sights of colonial Ho Chi Minh City: the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, Opera House, and then enjoy funny shopping at the historic Ben Thanh market. Enjoy a welcome cruise dinner—a different experience and the perfect way to see the panoramic view of the vibrant city lights along the Saigon River with live Vietnamese traditional music performance. Overnight in HCMC.

Today’s tour will begin at 08:00. Leave the busy streets of Ho Chi Minh City and drive deep into the Mekong Delta on this Cai Be day tour. Upon arrival in Cai Be, board a private boat and begin exploring the Delta.

Pass by trading boats laden with fresh produce while cruising past river islands, coconut groves, and fish farms. Visit small, family-run workshops that produce local specialties like rice popcorn and coconut candy.

After this introduction to the Mekong Delta, get a closer look at the lives of its residents. Take a short stroll through a local village with flourishing fruit gardens. Arrive at Mr. Kiet's home with his family. More than four generations have lived in the house, which is a great example of traditional 'Mandarin' architecture. The family's house will serve a delicious home-cooked Vietnamese meal for lunch. Next, take a walk through their fruit orchard to see the fresh seasonal fruits on the trees.

Say farewell to the host family and continue to Tan Phong Island. Take a local rowboat through the narrow canals around the island, appreciating the tranquility and lush landscapes of this part of the Delta.

As the sun begins to dip lower in the sky, it is time to return to Cai Be and continue to Ho Chi Minh City.

Breakfast at your hotel, free at leisure till being transferred to Tan Son Nhat International Airport for your onward flight.
