Very early morning (5:45 am) private car transfer to Ban Vat Sean to watch a long line of monks in saffron robes collecting ceremonial alms. Back to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, we will start a full-day city tour starting in the morning in Luang Prabang. Check out and visit the former Royal Palace before embarking on a slow boat trip to Pak Ou caves 32 km upriver. Along the way, stop to visit the Lao whisky village and see the process of how villagers make the potent Lau Lao (rice whisky), then continue onboard to the cave where a thousand Buddha images are kept. After visiting the cave back downstream to Luangprabang.
In the afternoon, we depart for a nearly 1-hour drive south to one of Luang Prabang’s most picturesque sights, the Kuang Si waterfall. Once at the waterfalls, take a leisurely hike through the national park towards the Kuang Si waterfalls and pass by the Asian Bear Rescue Center. For the more adventurous, continue to the top of the main waterfall. Swimming in the refreshing waters is possible, although between November and January the water temperature is very cool.
Overnight in Luang Prabang.
Back to the hotel for breakfast, free at leisure until transferring by the driver to the airport.
