Arrive at HCMC and transfer to your hotel. Check in, free at leisure for the rest of the day and overnight in HCMC.
In the morning, depart Ho Chi Minh City for a drive to the Cu Chi Tunnels. Leaving the bustling city behind, the scenery begins to change: first to lush rice paddies, then to rubber plantations, and finally to villagers drying noodles by the side of the road and going about their daily chores. On arrival starts the visit with the Ben Dinh or Ben Duoc sections of the tunnel, an immense network of connecting underground tunnels located in the Cu Chi district in the suburb of HCMC. Back to Ho Chi Minh City for lunch at a local restaurant.
After lunch, visit the War Museum, which contains exhibits relating to the phase of the war against Americans and the former Presidential Palace that was the home and workplace of the President of the Southern Vietnamese government during the Vietnam War. From there on, you will go on foot (the car will be available at all times) to visit the major sights of colonial Ho Chi Minh City: the Notre Dame Cathedral, Old Saigon Post Office, Opera House, and then enjoy funny shopping at the historic Ben Thanh market. Enjoy a welcome cruise dinner—a different experience and the perfect way to see the panoramic view of the vibrant city lights along the Saigon River with live Vietnamese traditional music performance. Overnight in HCMC.
Our Tour Guide and Driver pick you up at the hotel in Saigon, then take an excursion to My Tho, one of the quiet cities in the Mekong Delta area. Arrival to My Tho, a full-day trip to the water world of the Mekong Delta; enjoy the journey through the fertile paddy fields and water buffalos.
Take the boat trip along narrow waterways and visit some orchards, local houses are making rice-paper; and enjoy tropical fruits with southern traditional “Tai Tu music” show. Enjoy lunch with special Elephant’s Ear Fish that will be served during lunch at a local restaurant on the island. After finishing the boat trip, take a private vehicle to Can Tho, stopping to visit the ancient pagoda Vinh Trang.
Drive to Can Tho, check-in and Overnight in Can Tho
Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the pier to take the boat ride on the Mekong River, which is the longest and most prosperous in Asia. Visit the famous floating market in Cai Rang, where you can see the daily life and local people selling their products on boats. Then cruise to small canals to visit one of the local families and their orchard, taste tropical fruits, and drink green tea.
Check out the hotel, then come back to Ho Chi Minh City. Lunch will be served enroute.
