Tour Plan
Arrive at airport; meet your driver for an airport transfer with a private vehicle and English-speaking guide to hotel to check in. Overnight in Vientiane.
In the morning, we will visit Wat Si Muang first, which is known for its supernatural power. Next, we will depart for the visit to Budha Park, a charming collection of Buddhist and Hindu sculptures on the banks of the Mekong, near the "Bridge of Friendship.". There are approximately 200 religious images, more than 500 years old, that were created by a mysterious monk who extended his philosophy of life and revealed his ideas about the universe.
Afternoon, we will see the main symbols of the city, including the oldest, the Wat Sisaket, the temple of thousands of tiny statues of the Buddha image in the ancient Wat Prakeo, which had been famous in its time for hosting the Emerald Buddha. On the way to the national icon of Laos, the famous and sacred That Luang Stupa structure, we will stop to take some photographs of the imposing Patuxay Monument, which is known as a particular Laosian "Arc de Triumphed.".
A spectacular sunset view over the Mekong will be the ideal way to end the day. Overnight in Vientiane.
Very early morning (5:45am) private car transfer to Ban Vat Sean to watch a long line of monks in saffron robes collecting ceremonial alms. We also visit the morning market in Luang Prabang to enjoy the daily local life here. Back to the hotel for breakfast.
After breakfast, we will start a full-day city tour starting in the morning in Luang Prabang. Check out and visit the former Royal Palace before embarking on a slow boat trip to Pak Ou caves, 32 km upriver, and along the way stop to visit the Lao whisky village and see the process by which the villagers make the potent Lau Lao (rice whisky), then continue on board to the cave where a thousand Buddha images are kept. After visiting the cave back downstream to Luangprabang.
In the early afternoon, we depart for a 1 - hour drive south to one of Luang Prabang’s most picturesque sights, the Kuang Si waterfall. Once at the waterfalls, take a leisurely hike through the national park towards the Kuang Si waterfalls and pass by the Asian Bear Rescue Center. For the more adventurous, continue to the top of the main waterfall. Swimming in the refreshing waters is possible, although between November and January the water temperature is very cool.
